Sugar Mill - Democratic Republic of Congo
We were approached by an engineering consulting firm in late 2019 to carry our work on a sugar mill in the Democratic Republic of Congo which had not been operational since the beginning of the civil war which broke out in Congo in 1996.

Our team flew up to Barundi at the beginning of 2020 and stayed for three weeks. They ended up having to cross the boarder into the Congo each day to carry out hydraulic servicing on a sugar mill.
We focused on five areas when it came to this project:
-
Cane yard hilo unloader
-
Spiller table hilo unloader
-
Spiller table
-
Cane carrier 1
-
Cane carrier 2

By the end of our first had had successfully:
-
Replaced all the hydraulic lines
-
Serviced all the hydraulic systems
-
Changed the hydraulic cylinders
-
Replaced control valves
-
Tested the systems and compiled a snag list

With COVID-19, our second trip was delayed as various countries including South Africa went into lockdown. We were able to return in December 2020 to complete the project and perform crushing trials.
We were extremely honored that we were able to assist in getting this sugar mill to crush cane after almost 25 years.
